THE TWO BUSINESS PARTNERS who created this company had been trying to get the project off the ground for over a year when they reached out to me to help bring their ideas to life. I worked closely with them to develop the branding, including a custom wordmark and logo icon, brand colors, a typography system, graphic styles, and overall look and feel for their startup. Once the visual brand was established, I designed their mobile-optimized website that features their custom algorithm for suggesting credit cards based on spending.

AS WITH ALL CODED products, sometimes certain elements don't translate as well from design to code, and clients may change components after launch according to the evolving needs of the project, which makes it interesting to compare the original design prototype with the live website. The full website prototype is linked below, but the website is still being developed and will be launched soon.

THE TYPOGRAPHY SYSTEM HIGHLIGHTS the simple and straightforward tone of the brand in a budget-friendly manner. Since WhatCard is a startup, they were interested in low cost typography sources, especially with the main product being a website with a growing user base, so Outfit from Google Fonts was a great fit. The client liked having Outfit as the typeface for the wordmark along with the headings and body copy throughout the website.
THIS PRIMARY COLOR SCHEME based on the main blue brand color is playful and bold while being distinct enough to distinguish WhatCard from competitors in the credit card space without being trite.
